Abstract or Description

What do multicultural styles look like? How do they emerge in the complex fabric of contemporary British cities with populations drawn from all over the world? How do they simultaneously evoke and rework different cultural repertoires, drawing both on remembered pasts and projected futures? How does the right to look different translate into a multitude of different looks? This article explores this theme by taking a look at the role of South Asians and South Asian fabrics in the creation of British Muslim fashions.
