Abstract or Description

Police Radio was a project made by the author, a researcher at MIRIAD at Manchester Metropolitan University, in collaboration with serving officers from Merseyside Police Force between 2001 and 2003. The officers who took part in the project were all patrol officers - undertaking either foot patrol or vehicle patrol - and as such were involved in the everyday concerns of an urban police force in the UK - youth disorder, drunkenness, burglary, and so on. The completed work takes the form of a web radio station that continuously broadcasts a stream of ‘shows’ in which the police officers act as DJs whilst going about their normal patrols.
