Show/Exhibition

Abstract or Description:

Documentary practice deals with the social world, live situations, ‘real’ things. Relating to the social world as an object and putting it in the service of artistic activity can create an ethical challenge. Object Documentary investigated ‘documentary’ film as an art object. It did so on the premise that thinking of and trading documentary in the art field as an object opens up the possibility of the objectification of the real.

A 9-day programme of events including an exhibition, artist talks, screenings, open studios curated by Minou Norouzi.

Participating artists included Francesco Pedraglio, Jumana Manna & Sille Storihle, Rosalind Nashashibi, Sasha Litvintseva, Sarah Beddington, Mairéad McClean, Daniel Jacoby, Ben Balcom, Sky Hopinka, Zachary Epcar, Jenni Olson among others. Supported by Arts Council England.
