Abstract or Description

Common childhood sleep problems such as bedtime refusals and night wakings can cause a great deal of distress to children themselves and also to their parents. This article reviews literature addressing four main questions: 1) How do common childhood sleep problems change over time?; 2) How do sleep problems relate to other childhood problems?; 3) What causes childhood sleep problems?; 4) How should childhood sleep problems be assessed and treated?
