Abstract or Description:

The Craft Council's exhibition, Boys Who Sew, brings together a group of international male artists who break down barriers between fine art and fashion, exploring issues of gender, sexuality, race and identity. Highlighting the work of seven international artists, the exhibition explored issues of gender and why artists engage with ‘handmade’ techniques to development their visual art practice. Most of the artists don't use sewing in the traditional sense - and exhibits include soft sculpture, machine-embroidered portraits on organza, collages made of plastic dolls, artificial flowers and toy guns, voodoo dolls, and even an embroidered silk bomb.
