Additional Information:

An eight storey high (dimensions 1.8 x 1.8 x 32 metres) kinetic sculpture, which opened 27 July 2004 and is permanently installed in the London Stock Exchange. Made from stainless steel, circuitry, motors, plaster, perplex, software controllers. The piece consists of a square grid of 81 cables, each containing nine spheres (729 spheres in all) that are electronically controlled as they move independently up and down the cables, forming shifting patterns or words, numbers and shapes. Each sphere is lit from within and contains 21 separate components. The spheres instantiate physical pixels that can model any three-dimensional shape, allowing the whole installation to act as a living reflection of market forces that operate within the exchange.
