The word elicits a strong emotional response. Rates are increasing, one in three of us will develop some form of the disease during our lifetime. This engaging debate examines the challenging subject of cancer from multiple perspectives: the medical, the ethical, the research-based and, most importantly, the human.
The panel of experts includes Professor Malcolm Reed, oncologist and Dean of Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS); BSMS Professor of Ethics Bobbie Farsides; BSMS Professor of Psycho Oncology, Lesley Fallowfield; Professor Peter Johnson, Chief Clinician, Cancer Research UK and Marion Coutts, author of The Iceberg, a widely acclaimed account of her husband’s battle with cancer.
The event will be chaired by Nicholas Timmins, senior fellow Institute for Government and the King's Fund and former public policy commentator at the Financial Times.
