 Content for radio broadcast

Top Forty & Scratch Peace
by Gregory Whitehead. Original sound, sampled music and vocals all combine to create short sound narratives.

A Mix by Paul D Miller AKA DJ Spooky. A collage as wild and diverse as the DJ's home ground, the streets of New York City.

Wire Service written & performed by Elizabeth James & Jane Draycott, sound by Allen Jones. Fragments of language and sound gradually narrate the kidnapping of a young boy by a militia force.

The Master written & performed by Jonathan Brannen, soundscape by Erik Belgum. A dark piece examining the art works of The Master, a genetic expressionist.

ERIK BELGUM is a writer of experiential fiction and an audio artist. His fiction has been published in many literary journals, among them Chicago Review, Black Ice, and Caliban. Belgum's literary/audio/soundtext works have been played throughout the United States, in concert, on radio, and on the CD audio magazine, Aerial. In 1994, he curated a concert of spoken word performance at the Walker Art Center. His international residencies include STEIM in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and the Banff Center for the Arts in Banff, Alberta, Canada.

Some Enchanted Evening performed by Kazuko Hohki arranged by Clive Bell, drum beat by Christian Weaver (original song written by Rogers and Hammerstein). A wonderful cover of this classic number.

Anais Whispers by Beverley Hood. Words teasingly half reveal themselves then vanish into the mix of whispering voices in this perfectly formed work.

Selected tracks from Infinite by Noto. This sound work, originally produced for documenta X, is made up of sound from information technology (telephones, faxes) mixed with human elements, and exists as an untranslatable, abstract language.

Sweet Synchronicity by Siren Circus. From the debut album of composer-twins Cathryn & Lucie Robson comes a fusion of musical styles and poetic sensibilities.

Tim Etchells reads About Lisa to Bell Helicopter (Conor Kelly & Sam Park).
Tim Etchell nonchalantly reads his tale of murder and revenge to the soundscape by Bell Helicopter. Tim Etchells is artistic director of Forced Entertainment an ensemble of artists making performance, installation and work in other media, based in Sheffield UK.

Calling to Say & Filthy Dirty by John Williams (samples sourced by Stefan Demetriou). Falling within the category of plunderphonics, John Williams samples, re-mixes and layers.
