Abstract or Description

This chapter is a contribution to the forthcoming book, 'How to Study Religion' edited by Linda Woodhead. The chapter focuses on the methodological challenges experienced and approaches developed by Tarlo in her study of Muslim dress practices. It is intended as a personalised anthropological account that will provide students with insight into how researchers conduct research on topics relating to religion. It also contains a question and answer section in which the author responds to questions from the editor as well as a list of suggested questions which students might wish to pursue.
