Abstract or Description

Following Arts and Health Check Up Check In 2018 at Crawford Art Gallery on 26 April, keynote speaker Professor Anna Furse, FRSA, will share her knowledge of theatre, writing, medical humanities and interdisciplinary collaborations further at a special workshop the following day, Friday 27 April, at the same venue.

Entitled Interiority, this workshop will introduce aspects of research towards Anna Furse’s digital artwork I’m Not a Piece of Meat to reflect on how culture and medicine are braided historically. In terms of looking at the history of anatomy and its practice today, a wealth of information comes into play which engages us in ethical, political and social questions, as well as emotional and imaginative experiences, as we explore the meaning of our interiority, both alive and dead.
