Short story, part of a planned longer work of linked stories, based on the life of Washington Roebling, chief engineer of the Brooklyn Bridge: subject of my 2017 biography, "Chief Engineer". "Explosive" examines aspects of Roebling's life in fiction, covering 1870, 1863, 1883.
