Abstract or Description

This volume grabbed my attention from the first 2 words: Beyond Homophobia. It suggested a much-needed discussion that was richer and fuller than what so many of us have come to expect. Flipping through the author list I saw noted figures who had already made names for themselves in academia, literature, poetry, photography, activism and research, both in the Caribbean and in the wider international scene: names like Thomas Glave, Kei Miller, Colin Robinson, and Carla Moore (among others). Proverbs about judging books by their cover notwithstanding (and after all, what are covers for, if not to give us an impression of the book?), this one was off to a promising start.
