Abstract or Description

Interrogates and challenges various forms of what we might call affirmative feminism. Focuses on four topics: "gender mainstreaming", a terrain claiming to be at the forefront of feminist success in the field of policy; the celebratory third wave; the affirmative sexual politics of the feminist philosopher Rosi Braidotti; the feminist classroom, in which questions are raised about women's studies, about post-colonialist pedagogy and about teaching gender studies in the context of globalization.
