Abstract or Description

This article serves to introduce the key themes, around which the special issue on ‘Ambivalent Architecture’ revolves. They include studies of architecture and violence, architecture and change, as well as work on visualization, memorialization and nation-building. More generally, this introductory article also locates each paper in a broader body of work, identifying cross-disciplinary themes which underpin each of the seven contributions.
