Abstract or Description

The article discusses Mary Daly’s 1978 book Gyn/Ecology: The Metaethics of Radical Feminism, 1978, as part of an issue of C Magazine on predecessors and weird elders. Acknowledging that the book represents a feminist attitude that is very different to the her contemporary feminist politics, she nonetheless reflects on the generative role that the book’s critique of male-dominated language and culture, and its separatist stance, played on her as a nascent feminist student struggling in a conservative academic environment.
