Abstract or Description

'Casting Seqences', an essay on the artists Sarah Bray, Alex Charrington, Rachael Clewlow, Peter J. Evans, James Hugonin, Richard Rigg, Nick Kennnedy and Anne Vibeke Mou, conceived as an exploration of the working practices and systems they employ (frequently drawing) and the connections of these to broader aesthetic traditions employing chance and indeterminacy. The title is taken from a book by Marjorie Welish, the artist, poet and art critic, who is an influence on my thinking here.
