| Abstract or Description: | Concrete Futures (co-curated with Mihaela Brebenel and Nikolaus Perneczky) brought together films that deal with fiction and imagination. The films invited encounters with speculative futures, which are nonetheless grafted onto the present ‘documentary’ moment that haunts them. Serbian, Angolan, and Spanish cityscapes came together in a type of speculative haunting through images that act as drivers of the imagination. With films by Jasmina Cibic, Kiluanji Kia Henda, Sebastian Brameshuber and Thomas Draschan, Ion de Sosa. Supported by Arts Council England. |
