In Silence brings together the four different media that are part of Grace Schwindt’s practice including film, drawing, sculpture and performance and invites the viewer to enter a world in which they overlap and stand side by side. The works explore themes of physical and mental fragility and the sharing of wounds as a possibility to imagine social structures in which violence and exclusion are rejected and cannot determine relations. The works seek to find a balance between protection and exposure and negotiate conventions of looking at bodies while seeking to take these apart.
The exhibition was created in conversation with the Curators Sjoerd Kloosterhuis and Dorothé Orczyk.
