Abstract or Description

Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade has opened its Department for Organization of Stage and Artistic Activities in 1961, York University in Toronto its MBA in Arts Administration in 1969 and City University in London its Arts Administration Department in 1974. These are some of the pioneering programmes in the field today called arts/cultural management. However, very rarely, the programme developed and still successfully running in Belgrade is acknowledged for its foresight. This article is discussing what kind of way of thinking did the educators and researchers in arts/cultural management from Southeast Europe, such as professor Milena Dragićević Šešić, bring to the arts/cultural management field in Europe and internationally, and to what extent is that recognised internationally.
