This overarching project stemmed from an initial idea to transcribe the original passenger list for the MV Empire Windrush and make the information more widely available as a public resource. Having transcribed the passenger list, a series of exhibitions, immersive experiences, and digital resources were created. A number of partnerships and collaborations were fostered as a result of this project, most notably: the Mayor of London’s Office and the Greater London Assembly, the Home Office, the V&A Museum, Lewisham Shopping Centre, and the Layers of London project.
