Abstract or Description

Why don’t we see more women proposing to men in heterosexual relationships? What happens when women ask their male partners to marry them? Based on our interviews of 21 women who popped the question, we created a research animation on what we found about female-led marriage proposals, their emotional displays, and how the institution of marriage is changing in the face of gender equality.
