Abstract or Description

Closely following Jacques Derrida’s work on Immanuel Kant’s The Conflict of the Faculties, the chapter shows how Kant’s effort to conceptualise and negotiate a space where freedom of thinking would be possible provides a useful tool for the examination of the institutional politics that have defined the university up to the present.
