Ballgame is a play for single voice. Written in the tradition of the radio broadcast, it takes the form of a play-by-play account of a mathematically ‘average’ baseball game, in which a single male voice announces the imagined game in real time. Through the careful balance of analytic, descriptive and anecdotal language, Ballgame attempts to conjure a perfectly plausible game, unlocateable in time or place. The work will take three different forms: it will be recorded as an audio work, published as a play script, and presented as a live performance by a single actor.

Ballgame (Innings 1–3) was completed and recorded September 2009 and shown in a solo exhibition at Greengrassi, London. The full nine innings of Ballgame are currently in progress, and will be shown in a solo show at Presentation House, Vancouver in 2011, which will consist of the installation of an audio recording, a live performance and the publication of completed playscript. The work will then travel to the Walter Phillips Gallery at The Banff Centre in Canada in 2012.
