Abstract or Description

Going to work with a dog is not the same as researching with or on dogs. Some of the issues it generates, however, particularly the more contentious issues, parallel those of research and can further illuminate them. This chapter discusses my experience of teaching at Goldsmiths with Monk, the Labrador with whom I live. It is organised around four topics: anonymity and visibility, environment, consent and transformation.
