Abstract or Description

Inspiration and Diversity: Get Writing Gets Different is an unusual and rousing anthology, aimed at creative teachers, community members who want to set up writing groups, people with mental and physical health challenges who are interested in using writing to help them, and anyone interested in creative pedagogies. You’ll find here a wealth of fascinating creative writing, research and teaching tips. Written by graduates from the MA in Creative Writing and Education at Goldsmiths, it seeks to address some of the most contemporary concerns in our society from Black Lives Matter to bringing up young children, from teaching creative writing to English as Second Language Learners to encouraging all teachers to use creative approaches to dealing with stress. The anthology is wonderfully eclectic and playful, full of sage advice and research-informed strategies for developing creativity and creative writing. Much of the work was produced during the 2020-21 Covid pandemic and echoes some of the issues that this tragedy unleashed for us all.
