Abstract or Description

A draft paper was presented to a panel of other academics. Developing a discussion on how to better understand the evolving role of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in enabling and delivering knowledge exchange and in particular R&D, innovation, and entrepreneurship activity with and for the UK creative economy. It focuses on the complex roles that exist in HEIs working with their local, regional, and national creative economies, and particularly those working as interlocutors, entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs: creative innovators. It will assess the role of these dihybrid staff – somewhere between industry and academics - who increasingly design, lead, manage, and deliver these programmes, undertaking teaching, learning and engagement/civic mission activity and the diversity of the skills and knowledge sets they possess.
