This volume presents Peter Wollen’s early engagements with anti-imperialist politics and counter-cinema practice throughout the 1960s and 1970s, indicating the ways in which he transformed these commitments in the 1980s and 1990s and beyond. It includes essays and plans for exhibitions that demonstrate Wollen’s extensive engagement with revolutionary Mexican art and persistent contesting of the dominant histories and geographies of modernism. ‘
