“Have you ever seen nature inside out? When the sun stands at midday and it’s as if the world was going up in flames? Step into the world of Temple Pictures where the Hollywood studio system meets a forgotten hinterland filled with dreamers who exist at the fringes of the movie industry. Here, celluloid fantasy clings to desperate realism and certainty dissolves into a hallucinatory world, while the tragic tale of Buchner’s Woyzeck echoes through the corridors.”
This was a Punchdrunk project directed by Felix Barrett and Maxine Doyle in collaboration with the company and the Royal National Theatre. On this project Alexa Reid collaborated as a Design Assistant working in a small team to develop the dramaturgy through the scenographic ‘fine detail’ across this vast promenade performance developed at a multi-storey former Royal Mail sorting office, set within the fictional "Temple Pictures", “covering 200,000 sq. ft., catering for up to 600 audience members per show.
