“On Becoming Place; acts of meditation and metamorphosis” is an audio-guide produced to coincide with “Roan/M” at MOMA Machynlleth. The participant is offered the opportunity to download and engage in a series of practical instructions/provocations aimed at providing methods for encountering, experiencing and processing place through found and collected natural materials/specimens. Posing questions of mutability, morphology and metamorphosis. The experiment is part ecological meditation, part practical embodiment experiment with the view to examining the relationship betwixt and between body and place, and the points of convergence.

To take part you will need to:
• Download this track to a mobile phone and have use of earphones.
• Make your way to a predominantly natural environment. And be comfortable to both walk and be at rest.
• Have a container to collect natural specimens (e.g., a leaf or a stone)
• Have a notepad or sketchbook and a pencil.
• You can choose to remain outside or return to an indoor environment part of the way through this experience.
