Abstract or Description

Organisation and leading of a workshop as part of Hamburg CodeWeek 2023, open to children of all ages.

The workshop built on ideas from a project developed over the course of a year-long collaboration with the City Science Lab Hamburg – asking what it would mean to automate city planning according to climate data.

The workshop held at Bücherhallen Hamburg was a chance for children to experiment with programmable Thymio robots, build lasercut cardboard models of miniature robots, and set them loose on a scaled map of Hamburg – to imagine how an autonomous tree planting robot might transform the city, and what kinds of cities they would like to live in.
