As part of ‘Hope is a Discipline’ at the October Salon, Belgrade, I contributed as a member of the And Others network on the gendered labour of art collectives at FLU Gallery.

Material on gendered labour within art collectives that I had developed in workshops in Lisbon and Riga with fellow at ‘And Others’ members Carla Cruz and Karolina Majewska Guede was included in the exhibition and reproduced in the exhibition catalogue.

During the opening weekend I participated in the panel discussion ‘Why Don’t We Quit?’, which drew its name from the title of an upcoming exhibition by Gabrielle Moser and myself, on the challenges of collective feminist practice.

And Others: The Gendered Politics and Practices of Art Collectives is a research project initiated by Lina Džuverović.

‘And Others’ was one of three invited collaborations to exhibit at the FLU Gallery, Belgrade. The other groups and collaborations were the Feminist Duration Reading Group and Kathrin Böhm & Jelena Micić.

For the Belgrade Salon, ‘And Others’ network members Ximena Alarcón-Díaz and Lily Hall took on key organisational and curatorial roles.

‘Hope is a Discipline’ was curated by curated by Lina Džuverović, Ana Knežević and Emilia Epštajn, with visual identity by Rafaela Drazic.
