In a world increasingly obsessed with definitions, algorithms, and overwhelming fragmentation, the archive becomes a site for
what is fixed, or fossilised in time —often robbing meaning of its fluid, lived, and sensory dimensions. ​

​But we stand at a threshold where the archive can be reimagined as the Anarchive: a site of possibility, emergence, and
embodied knowledge. Inspired by Erin Manning and Brian Massumi’s philosophy of the Anarchive, alongside Nora Bateson’s
practice of "warm data", we seek to challenge the limits of traditional documentation.​

In this project, time becomes the designer’s material, ripe for stretching, exploring, even refusing. Through music, sound,
embodiment, drawing, making... The Anarchive invites participants to handle time as something circular, relational, and responsive — an
active force that interacts with your personal context. Through the creative practice, all the participants explored themes that break open the rigid structure of linear time, thickening moments, tracing echoes, and allowing the past, present, and future to converge.​

​Using the Anarchive as a framework, the participants developed a poetic, relational approach to design, where documentation is not only arecord but a breathing, evolving process. Their practices allow time to coil, expand, or dissolve, giving rise to new forms
and meanings within the archive?​

This project is an invitation to design beyond preservation, to honour the fluid, the forgotten, and the emergent. In the Anarchive, we find the space to rethink memory as movement and let documentation be alive—feminine, participatory, and always becoming.​
