Abstract or Description

Paper delivered to the Inaugural conference of the Social Liberal Forum at City University, London. The paper argues that accelerated deficit reduction is not a necessity. It also identifies a number of political and economic issues which should be given greater priority: (a) tackling mounting social inequality; (b) addressing critical environmental threats; and, (c) reforming 'big finance'.
