Additional Information:

Originality: Presents a new method of reconstructing surfaces from partial samplings of the original object. This method is more general than standard approaches, yet remains efficient. Rigour: The method has been tested on hundreds of datasets, made of up to tens of millions of point samplings. 3DIM is one of two major International Conferences focused around 3D Imaging, peer-reviewed by 3 experts. Significance: used by Engineering and Computer Science at Brown University and University of London to deal with real data with arbitrary topologies. Also, this approach is fully scalable to arbitrary large datasets. Work supported by the NSF.
