Abstract or DescriptionHelena Reckitt presented a paper on current curatorial and artistic practices that revisit the history of the women's movement and the coterminous art movement. The talk was given during the Critical Curatorial panel on this one-day event which brought together academics, artists, curators and activists engaged in research and creative practices that work to challenge or re-imagine commonly held ideas about gender, sexuality, class and race, as well as notions of performance, art and curatorial practice. Keynote: Ann Cvetkovich Ann Cvetkovich is Professor of English and Women's and Gender Studies at the University of Texas at Austin. She is the author of Mixed Feelings: Feminism, Mass Culture, and Victorian Sensationalism (Rutgers, 1992) and An Archive of Feelings: Trauma, Sexuality, and Lesbian Public Cultures (Duke, 2003). She edited, with Ann Pellegrini, "Public Sentiments," a special issue of The Scholar and Feminist Online. She is coeditor, with Annamarie Jagose, of GLQ: A Journal of Lesbian and Gay Studies. Inspired by Public Feelings groups in Chicago, Austin, and New York, she is currently writing a book about depression.
