Abstract or Description

In this piece I analyse the reflexive discourse of medical humanities as a form of interdisciplinarity, against the background of recent sociological appraisals of interdisciplinarity as a mode of knowledge production. In contrast to readings that would reduce interdisciplinary engagement in medical humanities to a 'logic of accountability', I focus on the pedagogical dimension of the movement to argue that we might read it in terms of a 'logic of ontology' (Barry et al.) that is transformative of both the subjects and the objects of knowledge.
