Abstract or Description:	Professors Srinivisan (MIT Touch Lab), Jefferies, and Zimmer have been working on a series of haptics projects supported by the EPSRC. They are exploring on the one hand how haptic technology, by bringing the sense of touch to the interface between people and machines, opens out the possibilities of interaction between people, cultural artefacts, museums and the external environment and on the other how research into tectiles and their feels can help inform the next generation of haptic interfaces.
