Abstract or Description

Lifestyle migration of older people now affects all corners of the globe, as increasing numbers of relatively affluent individuals move internationally seeking what they consider to be the ‘good life’ From French lifestyle migrants seeking exotic lifestyles in Marrakech, to older Americans moving to Mexico, Costa Rica, and Panama - people from all walks of life now view later life as an opportunity for a fresh start, new beginnings and adventures, in stimulating environments. However, imaginings of the good life have to be reconciled with the realities of the ageing body, access and experiences of healthcare and care provision within destinations.
