Abstract or Description

Guardian commissioned research into the 70m comments left on its site since 2006. Looking at patterns of commenting behaviour we discovered that articles written by women and people of colour attracted higher levels of abusive and / or disruptive comments "below the line". Of the 10 Opinion writers who received the most abuse / disruptive behaviour, eight were women (four white, four non-white) and two were black men.
