Additional Information:

This is the first paper to deploy these kinds of computational model that are well-known in Economics to data mining, in particular to problems of clustering (grouping similar data) and dimension reduction (making large-scale multidimensional data tractable). Rigour: Results on data samples were analysed and compared to those from more traditional approaches to data mining. Significance: We have been approached by a DTI Project (ECRIS) to see where and how this model can be used to pre-process available data and to get patterns characterising formed clusters. The paper was reviewed by three international reviewers.
