Abstract or Description

Many urban sounds are a haphazard by-product of noise policy that relates to hearing damage, but have little to do with the subtleties of everyday listening habits and people’s auditory needs. Drever will discuss his creative research into public toilets, a socially sensitive space that is now blighted by noisy high-speed hand dryers. His study places the user at the centre of a study that combines sonic art techniques with accredited acoustic analysis.
