Abstract or Description

Miranda Matthews, Intimidating architecture and flexible takeovers

With the aim of increasing inclusivity, artists and artist educators are challenging the intimidation of grand architecture in what can be seen as flexible takeovers. Arts practice is found to be making interventions in celebrated, historical, and also patriarchal and colonial spaces in UK university cultures. Miranda Matthews will discuss this theme from her research into how arts methods can enable increased self-representation in collaborative anti-racist learning spaces.
