Abstract or Description

As one of a group of commissioners for the report funded by Waltham Forest Council, Aminul Hoque (over the course of 1 year) visited educational institutions, heard from local business and educational leaders, invited polled the views of local residents and examined evidence from local government. But above all, the professional role of the commissioner was to hear the views of local young people and base this report on their wisdom and lived experiences. Alongside a group of commissioners from the public and private sector, Hoque's professional role was to listen to all views from the local community and stakeholders and then advise local government in regards to addressing the needs and challenges for children and young people in relation to education, employment, welfare, social and cultural life. The recommendations were published as a report in 2018.
